Global grain production forecast for 2017/18 decreased by 6 MT

The forecast for global grain production in 2017/18 is reduced by 6 million tons to 2.094 billion tons (the previous forecast was 2.1 billion tons), writes International grains council (IGC).
It is noted that in comparison with 2016/17 the global production of grain in 2017/18 will decrease by 46 million tons.
International grain trade should reach 361 million tons, which is 9 million tons more than in 2016/17 and by 1 million tons exceeds the previous forecast.
Reference: the gross output of crop production in 2018 is forecasted at UAH 179.8 billion, which is 0.6% more than the previous year.
