LANDFORT agroholding, which is a structural division of BKW Group of companies, increased its land bank to 37 thousand hectares in late 2017. This was informed to Latifundist.com by the owner of the Group Vadim Kovernik.

"We carried out a transaction to acquire the agricultural firm Russia in Berdyansk district of Zaporozhye region at the end of 2017. Due to this our land bank increased by 10 thousand hectares. The acquired agricultural enterprise includes a livestock complex with 1.500 heads of cattle, an elevator with a capacity of 20,000 tons located 40 kilometers from Berdyansk Seaport, and a feed mill. The elevator strategically and tactically fits perfectly into the business model of the group and will be actively used by our trading company Ambar Export BKW for the purchase of agricultural products and its transshipment in Berdyansk STP," the BKW owner emphasized.

According to Vadim Kovernik, the company decided to preserve and develop the livestock sector. In particular, within 2 years LANDFORT plans to bring this direction to a profitable level of work, increasing the efficiency of livestock production every year.

"A tremendous amount of work was done in October-December: we completely modernized feeding, purchased new equipment and machinery, performed partial repairs of buildings for normal wintering of the herd, installed new ventilation and heating system for the milking parlor, resumed the computer program for identification of the reproductive herd," he stressed.

The owner of BKW noted that at the moment negotiations are underway to join another agricultural enterprise with the agricultural bank of 2.5 thousand hectares in Zaporozhye region.

Vadim Kovernik also informed that the immediate goal is to increase the land bank of LANDFORT to 50 thousand hectares.

Today BKW Group of companies includes 4 business lines, which are represented by the following companies: Bizon-Tech, Ambar Export BKW, LANDFORT agroholding and Ocean Invest.

In 2018, in connection with the plans of BKW Group to participate more actively in the agrarian market in the segment of generic plant protection products, it was decided to include into the structure of the group the company Ocean Invest.

In 2017, Bizon-Tech became a member of the European Business Association (EBA).

In addition, the company Ambar Export BKW acted as a partner of the 4th International Middle East Grain Congress. Participants of the event discussed the world grain market, hedging risks in grain trade, the development of the Black Sea grain market, etc.

At the moment, BKW Group is audited by Deloitte and plans to obtain a certificate of the activities of all BKW Group companies for the year 2017 until May 1st.
