Astarta to construct treatment facilities and increase elevator capacity
Agri-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv plans to construct treatment facilities in the Globyno Cluster and increase elevator capacity.
This was informed by Valery Sokolenko, Head of sugar production of Astarta-Kyiv, at the conference Sugar World 2018.
"As for large facilities which we want to build in the near future, we plan to develop logistics, build a 60 thousand tons silo, which we will put into operation in 2019. We also want to build a large complex of treatment facilities in Globyno Cluster where the biogas complex works," he said.
Also, according to Valery Sokolenko, the enterprises of the holding introduce principles of careful production.
"Previously, we thought that high-quality sugar is expensive at cost, but we have achieved such a balance that with the established work of all services we have a quality product with a reduction in production costs. We are going to increase the yield of sugar per hectare. The cost price of sugar per hectare is the main factor. And if we can still influence the cost price of processing, given the difficulties with land resources, then in the case of the price of sugar, we need to work together," Valery Sokolenko emphasized.
Previously it was reported that the International Finance Corporation (IFC) considers provision of Astarta-Kyiv with a long-term loan of up to USD 30 million.
