First 10.5k tons of winter wheat harvested in Ukraine

As of June 18, the first 10.5 thou. tons of winter wheat have been threshed from 4 thou. hectares. Agrarians of Mykolayiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions started winter wheat harvesting.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports that harvesting continues in Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk regions. 281 thou. tons of new crop harvested from 86 thou. hectares with a productivity of 3.26 tons/ha.

The first results of the harvesting campaign are as follows:

  • winter wheat — 10 thou. tons from 4 thou. hectares with the productivity of 2.62 tons/hectare;
  • winter barley — 268 thou. tons from 81 thou. hectares with the productivity of 3.3 tons/hectare;
  • peas — 2 thou. tons from 1 thou. hectares with the productivity of 2.27 tons/hectare.

Winter rapeseed harvesting started in Zaporozhye, Odessa and Kherson regions. The oilseed crop was threshed on the area of 3 thou. hectares with the productivity of 1.74 tons/hectare.

Reference: since the start of MY2017/18, as of June 13, 2018, Ukraine exported 38.15 million tons of grain, which is 4.18 million tons less than over the corresponding period last year.
