3.6 MT of sunflower meal traded abroad in Sep-May

In the period from September to May of MY2017/18, Ukraine exported about 3.6 million tons of sunflower meal. This was informed by the representative of Atria Brokers company Oksana Starinana, within the framework of Sunflower Oil&Meal Trade 2018 conference in Shanghai, APK-Inform reports.

"Ukraine remains one of the major suppliers of sunflower meal to the world markets," the expert stressed.

She noted that about 503 thou. tons of Ukrainian sunflower meal was shipped to the countries of Asia over the above-mentioned period including about 146 thou. tons delivered to China (as of June 20).

The volume of world sunflower meal imports in MY2017/18 may reach about 7-7.1 million tons. The key buyers in the current season are the EU (53% of the total volume), Turkey (13%), Belarus (9%), Morocco (5%), Israel (4%), and India (4%).

Previously it was reported that experts expected in MY2018/19 a record volume of sunflower meal production and export.
