Rye exports from Ukraine in 2017/18 increased 3.3 times

By the end of MY2017/18, Ukraine exported 38.5 thou. tons of rye, which is a 3.3 times larger volume than it was exported in MY2016/17, APK-Inform reports.

Poland imported the largest volume of Ukrainian grain having increased purchases by 18,2 thou. tons to 19,4 thou. tons and became the only country where rye was delivered monthly.

Shipments were also made to the following countries:

  • Tunisia — 6,1 thou. tons in 2017/18;
  • Israel — 4,6 thou. tons;
  • Spain — thou. tons.

Last season, Switzerland imported about 400 tons of Ukrainian organic rye.

Reference: as of June 1, 2018, grain and sunflower stocks in Ukraine are estimated at 8.32 million tons, which is 528 thou. tons lower y-o-y.
