High demand for sunflower seeds sent prices high

Currently, in Ukraine, there is a rise in demand prices for sunflower seeds stimulated by a high demand from oil-crushing enterprises, which are making large stocks of raw materials for uninterrupted operation, APK-Inform reports.

As of October 25, the demand prices for sunflower seeds in Ukraine are, as a rule, within 9.8-10.8 thou. UAH/t CPT, which is 300 UAH/t higher than in the same period a month earlier.

Analysts note that this trend is not typical for this period of the season since the number of oilseed crop supply is currently estimated as sufficient.

Previously it was reported that in August the Ukrainian large and medium-sized enterprises had produced the minimum volume of sunflower oil since the beginning of the marketing year — 83.6 thou. tons, which is a result of the decreased raw materials reserves by the end of the season.
