Ukrainian agrarian exports amounted to USD 18.2 bln in Jan-Oct 2018

In January-October 2018, the Ukrainian agrarian export revenue amounted to USD 19.2 billion showing a 5% increase y-o-y. This was informed by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva.

In particular, Ukrainian agricultural and food export reached USD 14.8 billion, whereas import stood at USD 4.3 billion.

The TOP-5 key export products in the reporting period are as follows:

  • sunflower, safflower or cottonseed oil — 4.42 million tons (22.24%);
  • corn — 15.05 million tons (16.9%);
  • wheat and meslin (a mixture of wheat and rye) — 13.42 million tons (16.3%);
  • rape seeds — 2.04 million tons (5.65%);
  • cake and other solid waste — 3.32 million tons (4.49%).

“The Asian countries remain our main trading partners in the agro-industrial sector having a leading position in the regional export structure. The European Union holds the second largest share, while the African countries — the third,” Olga Trofimtseva noted.

As reported earlier, Ukraine and Tunisia agreed on the veterinary certificate form for the export of chicken.
