More than 69 mln tons of grain harvested in Ukraine

As of December 4, 2018, the Ukrainian agrarians harvested 69.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops on the area of 14.6 million hectares (99%) with the productivity of 4.74 tons/ha.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports the following yields:

  • early grains and legumes — 34.3 million tons on 9.9 million hectares with a productivity of 3.48 tons/ha;
  • corn — 34.1 million tons on 4.4 million hectares (97%) with a productivity of 7.7 tons/ha;
  • buckwheat — 136 thou. tons on 108 thou. hectares (99%) with a productivity of 1.26 tons/ha;
  • millet — 78 thou. tons on 51 thou. hectares (98%) with a productivity of 1.54 tons/ha.

Harvesting of industrial crops has reached the following results:

  • sunflower — 13.8 million tons on 6 million hectares (99.8%) with a productivity of 2.28 tons/ha;
  • soybean — 4.4 million tons on 1.7 million hectares (99%) with a productivity of 2.58 tons/ha;
  • rapeseed — 2.7 million tons on 1 million hectares with a productivity of 2.61 tons/ha;
  • sugar beet — 13.5 million tons on 274 thou. hectares (98%) with a productivity of 49.4 tons/ha.

Previously it was reported that Ukraine would harvest the lowest yield of oilseed flax in 2018/19 — 39.5 thou. tons.
