Grain export 2018/19: corn shipments 64 pct higher

Grain exports from Ukraine as of February 27th reached 32.26 million tons. The Agrarian Ministry reports that this volume is 5.32 million tons more than the indicator for the last year's comparative period.

The volumes of exported crops are as follows:

  • wheat — 12.5 million tons (658 thou. tons less y-o-y);
  • corn — 15.8 million tons (6.2 million tons more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.3 million tons (728 thou. tons less y-o-y);
  • rye — 0.9 million tons (70.8 thou. tons more y-o-y).

As previously reported, in September-January 2018/19 Ukraine exported 11.4 million tons of corn, which is 74.5 pct more than the corresponding indicator of the previous season (6.5 million tons) and 35.7 pct higher than an average five-year level for the indicated period (8.4 million tons).
