Farmland market in Ukraine liberalized by the end of 2019, President's office

The Office of the President of Ukraine is negotiating with the World Bank on the choice of a model for opening the farmland market. The lifting of the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land in Ukraine and the launch of the land market is scheduled for the current year. This was informed by Oleksiy Goncharuk, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Hromadske reports.

"Our team understands that this should be done this year," said Oleksiy Goncharuk.

Thus, according to the most radical model, the lifting of the moratorium will lead to the acceleration of Ukraine's economic growth by 3% per year, and in accordance with the least radical model — by 0.5%.

"We are considering the least complicated and most effective model," added the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Previously reported that Ukraine lost USD 22.5 billion of GDP in 2018 as a result of the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land.
