Continental Farmers Group harvested half million of new crop grain
Continental Farmers Group finalized harvesting of early grain crops. In the current year, the company threshed 530.5 thou. t of new crop grain on 109.6 thou. ha.
The largest share in the structure of harvested areas — 46.5 thou. ha — accounted for winter wheat. Besides, this season Continental cropped winter barley, rapeseed, rye, spring barley and wheat.
"Our first harvesting campaign in an updated format as a single business is rather successful. It was carried out in the set agronomic terms and with no serious troubles. This year we were able to significantly cover our machinery fleet deficit thanks to substantial investments," Georg von Nolcken, CEO of Continental Farmers Group.
By the company's statement, the investment plan for 2019 provided for USD 51 mln for the machinery fleet update. Approximately the same amount of is planned for investment in machinery in 2020.
Currently, Continental is getting ready for late crops harvesting among which are corn, sugar beet, soybean and sunflower. Potato campaign has already started.
The Group started harvesting 2019 in early August. For this, the company purchased 26 new CLAAS LEXION 770 combine harvesters. The deal was worth USD 12.2 mln.
