240 MPs will vote for land market bill 2178-10 — sources

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy and the Sluga Narodu Party held a meeting on the land market bill No. 2178-10 today, February 6, AgroPolit.com informs.

"During the meeting, voting for the land market bill scheduled for today was deliberated," the message reads.

According to AgroPolit.com sources, at the moment there are 240 votes supporting the opening of the land market in Ukraine. Therefore, the chances to pass the bill are rather high.

The so-called 'Kolomoisky group'(Group of MPs, promoting the interests of Ukrainian Jewish billionaire Igor Kolomoisky) and other MPs suggested two variants of situation evolving:

  • extension of the moratorium on the sale of land until the law comes into force;
  • acquisition of land rights in the form of collateral may only be obtained by banks having state capital in their authorized capital stock.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament) will consider the land market bill No.2178-10 today, Feb 6.
