Grain export 2019/20: 17.4 mln t of wheat traded

Since the start of 2019/20 (July 2019 – June 2020), Ukraine has supplied 43.99 mln t of staple grains to foreign markets.

As of Mar. 20, agricultural commodities shipment increased by 8.39 mln t (24%) from the prior year's comparative period, 35.6 mln t, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

Grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 17.37 mln t (4.43 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 4.19 mln t (916 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 21.91 mln t (3.17 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (83.2 thou. t less y-o-y).

Pursuant to the USDA latest report, the forecast for wheat export to Egypt in 2019/20 is 12.5 mln t, 11.1 mln t of which are Russian and Ukrainian grain supply in July-February.
