Direct sales provoked personnel changes in Corteva's management

Roman Nyzhnyk, sales manager of Pioneer seeds brand in Ukraine, resigns from Corteva Agriscience, Latifundist.com market sources inform.

According to our sources, the reason for the resignation is linked to the fact that Roman Nyzhnyk and the company's management could not reach agreements on the bonus payment.

Our other source suggests that unsatisfactory season results may be the real cause.

"The company entered into direct sales, gave out seeds on credit, and at the end of the year a high level of accounts receivable is expected. This season, accounts receivable will be even harder to recover, as agrarians will not be able to harvest enough crop to repay their loans due to weather conditions. The land market liberalization, falling grain and oil prices do not make the situation any easier," the source explains.

Commenting on the situation for Latifundist.com, Roman Nyzhnyk confirmed the information about his resignation from Corteva Agriscience and added that he has not been working in the company since May 15, 2020.

"I am open to cooperation with companies willing to invest in the development of their employees," said Roman Nyzhnyk.

Roman Nyzhnyk's position, according to our information, will be assumed by Igor Komnatny, who previously held the position of key account manager at Corteva, and earlier the same position in Syngenta.

Another recent personnel change was the transfer of Andrii Andriushko from sales to the production unit. Our sources explain the rotation by the fact that sales of PPPs, Pioneer sunflower seeds, seeds under Brevant brand have fallen. His position will be taken by Vitalii Kovernyk, who previously served in the company but for the last two years managed the innovation department at Bizon-Tech.

Upon Latifundist.com request regarding personnel changes in Corteva Agriscience, the company commented:

"Follow the company's official website news in the near future."

In July 2019, Corteva Agriscience presented the market with a new commercial strategy: Pioneer brand seeds are sold directly to agricultural producers, while the sales strategy of TM Brevant seeds remained unchanged.

Previously reported that Corteva Agriscience marketed Brevant brand seeds this season at a much higher price than Pioneer seeds.
