Unidentified person reported Nika-Tera's terminal bomb threat (UPDATED)

Early in the morning on 18 Aug, the Mykolaiv police were informed of a bomb threat at the terminal of the Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera in Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv.

"The Korabelnyi District Police investigative group, bomb squad and dog team immediately arrived at the scene, as well as all emergency services, to carry out a thorough examination of the facility," the message reads.

The police reported that a survey of Nika-Tera premises to detect explosive devices was underway.

"Investigation is ongoing, and the person who reported the bomb scare will be identified. Soon the event will be legally qualified," the police says in a statement.

"On 18 Aug, 102 service received an anonymous call about the bomb threat at Nika-Tera, which proved to be false after the emergency services' inspection. The port continues operations in normal mode," commented the press service of the port on its Facebook page.

As a reminder, Nika-Tera's 2019/20 ag commodity transshipment reached 6.4 mln t, 20% higher from 2018/19. Kernel also exported its commodities through TIS and Nika-Tera terminals in 2019/20.
