Barley export potential 80% realized so far 2020/21

Barley export from Ukraine in July-October 2020/21 made up 3.4 mln t, 5% more from the previous season's comparative indicator, the APK-Inform consultancy reports.
In the current season, Ukraine's barley export potential is estimated by analysts at 4.2 mln t, 16% down YoY (2019/20: 5 mln t). It was 81% realized in four months of 2020/21.
China is the key importer in the reporting period: the country boosted its purchases by 2.8x YoY to 2.3 mln t. Saudi Arabia cut imports by 62% to 334.2 thou. t. Libya's procurement in Jul-October reached 245 thou. t having increased by 4.9x.
"In total, the aforementioned countries account for 84% of barley export from Ukraine. China's share is apx. 67%," the message reads.
As a reminder, barley export from Ukraine as of November 18 stood at 3.6 mln t, 6% or 200 thou. t higher YoY.
