Harvest Online 2021: new crop progress reached 14.1 mln t

As of 22 July, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 14.1 mln t of new crop grain on 3.4 mln ha, 22% of the projected area. Early grain crops yield 4.18 t/ha on average.

Under the data of the project Harvest Online 2021, early grains bulk yield:

  • winter barley: 5 mln t on 1.19 mln ha (48% of the total area), using the average yield of 4.18 t/ha
  • winter wheat: 8.86 mln t on 2.07 mln ha (30%), using the avg. yield of 4.28 t/ha
  • peas: 242 thou. t on 110 thou. ha (47%), using the avg. yield of 2.21 t/ha

A new crop campaign started in all regions of Ukraine.

Farms of Kherson region harvested 69% of the planned areas (542 thou. ha) using the avg. yield of 4.54 t/ha, the new crop reached 2.2 mln t.

At the start of the campaign (2-8% of area threshed), the average yield of grains and legumes higher than 5 t/ha is produced in Vinnytsya, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions.

The USDA in its July report projects wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 at 21 mln t, corn at 30.5 mln t. Ukraine's sunflowerseed supply is projected at 16.7 mln t.
