Harvest Online 2021: new crop sunflower reaches 9 mln t

As of 7 October, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 49.37 mln t of new crop grain on 11.19 mln ha, 70% of the projected area. The average yield as of the reporting date stood at 4.41 t/ha.

Under the data of the project Harvest Online 2021, new crop bulk yield:

  • wheat (winter and spring): 32.28 mln t on 7 mln ha (100% of the total area), using the average yield of 4.62 t/ha
  • barley (winter and spring): 9.6 mln t on 2.46 mln ha (100%), 4 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 2.9 mln t on 1.01 mln ha (100%), 2.86 t/ha
  • sunflower: 8.75 mln t on 3.85 mln ha (59%), 2.27 t/ha
  • peas: 576.17 thou. t on 236.3 thou. ha (100%), 2.44 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 3.44 mln t on 73.08 thou. ha (32%), 47.1 t/ha
  • corn: 4.17 mln t on 786.82 thou. ha (14%), 5.29 t/ha
  • soybean: 1.49 mln t on 588.75 thou. ha (46%), 2.54 t/ha
  • millet: 160.15 thou. t on 68.91 thou. ha (88%), 2.32 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 86.41 thou. t on 65.32 thou. ha (78%), 1.32 t/ha

Wheat production in Ukraine in the crop year 2021 is projected at 31.2 mln t, 26% up YoY.

Winter crops sowing in Ukraine as of 4 October was 44% completed.

The USDA in its September report left unchanged the projection of wheat production for Ukraine and Russia, same as for corn production, export and ending stocks in Ukraine.
