Egypt cancelled procurement of 240 thou. t of Ukraine wheat

Egypt's General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC) cancelled the contracts for the purchase of 240 thou. t of Ukrainian wheat. The grain was booked for February and March delivery, Reuters reports.

Wheat was to be supplied by NIBULON and Kernel's trading company, Inerco Trade.

Four cargoes were never loaded because of the war started by russia against Ukraine. However, the GASC contracts did not include a force majeure clause, the two Reuters sources said.

The deal on unblocking Ukraine's maritime ports on the Black Sea was signed on 22 July in Istanbul.

Grain export from Ukraine as of July 27 totalled over 1.2 mln t, 47% down YoY.
