Ukrzaliznytsia shipped 9% more cargo in July
The Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) increased its freight traffic by 9.2% mth/mth in July.
In July, the company provided for the transportation of 10.3 mln t of cargoes, the Chairman of the Board of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Kamyshin reports in Telegram.
In June this indicator totalled 9.43 mln t. Domestic shipments grew by 10.5%. Exports intensified by 8.7%, and imports by 4.5%.
"The transit did not rise as there was in fact none," added Oleksandr Kamyshin.
The chairman of the UZ Board noted that transportations of the majority of key cargo, including grain, ore, coal, ferrous metals, diesel, construction materials, etc., scaled up. Although, the shipment of cars, coke, scrap metal, salt and vegetable oil decreased.
"Indeed, the growth is tepid. We are doing everything possible for the constant growth of cargo shipments, including export ones. I suppose the unblocking of seaports for grain exports will enable us to speed up grain handling," commented Oleksandr Kamyshin.
