Mykolaiv region ports 90% ready to be part of Ukraine grain deal: Governor Kim

Mykolaiv ports are 90% ready to join the grain deal, yet it is the consent of the russians that is to be given, states the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim, Ukrinform reports.

"Mykolaiv ports are 90% ready to be part of the grain deal, but the russians are supposed to agree to let us start working. We do not attack our ships, the danger comes from the russians. It was they who opened fire on the barges leaving the port of Mykolaiv towards Odesa. So, as of now, it is unsafe," Kim explained.

According to him, the liberation of the Kinburn Spit from the russian invaders may also be another factor in making this happen.

During his visit to Mykolaiv region in late January, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced it is time that Mykolaiv ports are included in the grain deal.
