NIBULON invested USD 6 million in grain storage modernization
NIBULON invested USD 6 million to modernise its grain elevator network in 2024, including:
- USD 3.4 million in the Khmilnyk branch
- USD 1.2 million in the Vradiivskyi grain storage complex
- USD 408 thousand in the Kolosivsky elevator
- USD 120 thousand in technical solutions for servicing coaster vessels at the Bessarabska branch
- USD 386 thousand in the gallery for loading railway transport at the Transshipment Terminal in Mykolaiv
The company also improved its approach to assessing grain quality. For this purpose, NIBULON purchased and installed modern laboratory equipment worth USD 845 thousand. The company also introduced a remote calibration system and resumed training for all quality service employees by SGS specialists.
NIBULON has launched a Lean transformation and is working on global diagnostics and systematic improvement of the main processes of its grain elevators. The company analysed the state of daily Lean management and identified bottlenecks, and introduced visual management tools to control costs. The company provided practical training to all elevator managers and launched the first projects to optimise resources and labour costs.
In 2025, the agricultural holding's elevator business will focus on further automation, including quantitative and qualitative accounting, paperless document management, unattended weighing, automation of workplaces in the laboratory and an electronic queue for grain trucks via a chatbot.
