Ukraine’s corn harvest may reach 34 million tons in 2025/26 — FAS USDA

Ukraine’s corn harvest in the 2025/26 marketing year may reach 34 million tons, according to an estimate by the Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (FAS USDA). The projection is based on data from Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food regarding planted areas and yield potential.

By crop, the expected 2025/26 harvest includes:

  • Wheat — 22.8 million tons (in line with last year),

  • Barley— 4.9 million tons (–10% year-on-year),

  • Corn — 34.7 million tons (+29%),

  • Rye — 200,000 tons (–8%).

“At the time of the report, a soil moisture deficit was observed across almost the entire territory of Ukraine, which may negatively impact corn yields in 2025/26. The office may revise its corn yield forecast downward if the situation persists,” the report states.

The export forecast has also been updated:

  • Wheat — 15 million tons (–5%),

  • Corn — 28.5 million tons (+29%),

  • Barley — 3.2 million tons (+42%),

  • Rye — 10,000 tons (–9%).
