Ukraine harvests 40% of corn, average yield rises to 6.1 t/ha
As of October 31, growers in Ukraine harvested 76% of grain crop areas, collecting a total of 40.2 million tons of grain, the Ministry of Economy reported.
Specifically, the harvest includes 22.8 million tons of wheat, 5.37 million tons of barley, 661,000 tons of peas, and 10.36 million tons of corn. The national average corn yield increased to 6.15 tons per hectare.
Regarding oilseeds, a total of 15.63 million tons have been harvested, including 8.37 million tons of sunflower, 3.94 million tons of soybeans, and 3.32 million tons of rapeseed. Overall, sunflower has been threshed from 86% of planted areas, soybeans from 78%, while rapeseed harvesting has been completed.
Additionally, 6.79 million tons of sugar beets have been dug from 130,000 hectares, representing 66% of the planted area.
