Sugar production in Ukraine down by 100,000 tons compared to last season

As of early November, 26 sugar refineries in Ukraine have produced 880,000 tons of sugar, which is 100,000 tons less than at the same time last year, according to data from the Ukrsugar association.

At the same time, the current sugar extraction rate has increased to 14.81%, compared to 14.09% a year earlier, due to higher sugar content in sugar beets — 17.39%, which is 0.62% higher than in 2024.

Vinnytsia region remains the leader in sugar production, with six refineries that have already produced 196,000 tons of sugar.

Ukrsugar also noted that the Horokhiv Sugar Plant is processing beets as well, but it is not a member of the association and therefore does not submit regular operational reports.

Domestic sugar consumption in Ukraine is estimated at around 900,000 tons annually.
