Ukraine’s corn harvest approaches USDA forecast

As of January 15, Ukraine harvested 28.8 million tons of corn, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.

Growers harvested 4 million hectares, or 92% of the total planted area. Gross output is approaching the level forecast by the USDA for Ukraine’s corn crop at 29 million tons. A further 372,500 hectares remain to be harvested.

The national average corn yield currently stands at 7.17 tons per hectare.

In its December report, USDA analysts cut their forecast for Ukraine’s corn harvest in the 2025/26 marketing year by 3 million tons to 29 million tons. At the time, analysts at Barva Invest disagreed with the revision and maintained their forecast at 31.6 million tons.
