KSG Agro launches cogeneration unit at pig complex
Agroholding KSG Agro has launched a cogeneration unit at one of its pig complexes.
The unit has a capacity of 1.2 MW of electricity and 1 MW of thermal energy. The company states that this enables the facility to fully cover its energy needs during the autumn–winter period.
The installation was manufactured by RSE, a Czech engineering company with Ukrainian roots specializing in mobile autonomous energy solutions and the production of high-efficiency cogeneration modules.
According to the holding, the combined heat and power (CHP) unit will ensure a stable and uninterrupted energy supply for the pig complex’s production facilities, improve energy efficiency, and reduce dependence on external electricity sources.
The launch of the unit is part of KSG Agro’s large-scale project to create an integrated energy complex. In addition to the cogeneration unit, the project will include a solar power plant and an energy storage system. In 2026, the company plans to construct and commission the solar plant and storage facility, followed by the integration of all components into a unified Energy Management System (EMS).
The intelligent EMS will coordinate generation sources in real time, optimize energy consumption, reduce costs, and ensure supply reliability. The holding expects that by the end of 2026, the system will fully provide production processes with electricity and heat at an optimal cost and enhance overall business resilience.
