Agroenergy Group seeks over $20 million to build pea processing plant in Kyiv region
Agroenergy Group plans to build a deep pea processing plant in Kyiv region with a total investment of $24.2 million. The project has been included in the Ukraine Investment Catalogue 2026, presented during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC2026) in Gdańsk, Poland.
The facility will have an annual processing capacity of 35,000 tons of yellow peas. It is expected to produce 8,800 tons of pea protein concentrate, 22,000 tons of pea starch, as well as pea flour, pea hulls, and modified (extruded) starch.
According to the project documentation, Agroenergy Group will contribute $3.6 million in equity, while the remaining $20.6 million is expected to be secured through debt or project financing.
Around 80% of the investment will be allocated to capital expenditures, including equipment procurement, construction, and installation.
The project envisages the construction of a vertically integrated processing facility covering the entire production chain, from raw material processing to the manufacture of five value-added products. The company's target markets include Ukraine, the European Union, the United States, and Canada.
According to the company's estimates, once the plant reaches full production capacity in its third year of operation, annual revenue could reach $25.4 million. The projected payback period is two years, while the estimated internal rate of return (IRR) stands at 18.3%.
A preliminary feasibility study has already been completed, and the project is considered ready for implementation. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in 2028.
The project's key partners include German engineering companies Bühler GmbH Reichshof and Hosokawa Alpine, which will supply the processing equipment.
