NIBULON certified to conduct underwater demining operations

NIBULON has received certification in two additional areas of mine action — underwater demining and mine risk education for communities on the dangers posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war.

The certification authorises the company to officially conduct surveys and clearance of explosive hazards not only on land but also in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and coastal waters.

NIBULON’s diver-sappers completed their practical certification under the supervision of experts from the Certification Center of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

According to Vsevolod Petrovskyi, Head of Humanitarian Demining at NIBULON, the certification confirms the company's readiness to expand its underwater demining capabilities.

“We are systematically building this capability — from training our team and acquiring the necessary expertise to establishing modern technical infrastructure. Our goal is to be ready to begin practical operations as soon as the security situation allows large-scale clearance of Ukraine’s waterways,” he said.

The company has also been authorised to conduct mine risk education campaigns for local communities.

NIBULON’s humanitarian demining unit is currently carrying out state-funded and commercial land clearance projects in Kharkiv region while preparing for the next stage of developing its underwater demining operations.
