Russia strikes civilian vessels in Big Odesa and Danube ports

Russian forces on Aug. 3 launched another attack on transport infrastructure in Odesa region, targeting civilian vessels in the ports of Big Odesa and the Danube region. The attack injured 10 people, according to updated information from Ukraine's Ministry for Development of Communities, Territories and Transport.

Emergency services are continuing to deal with the aftermath of the strike, while those injured are receiving medical assistance.

The ministry said Russia continues to deliberately target Ukraine's transport infrastructure, seaports and civilian fleet. According to the ministry, during the first days of August alone there have been:

• five attacks on seaport infrastructure;
• three attacks on civilian vessels in ports;
• two attacks on vessels operating in the Ukrainian maritime corridor.

In July, Russian forces carried out 67 attacks on port infrastructure, 35 attacks on civilian vessels in ports, and 22 attacks on vessels using the Ukrainian maritime corridor.

The ministry said the intensity of Russian strikes on Ukraine's ports and civilian shipping continues to increase.
