Kernel tests alternative grain storage technology

Kernel has purchased three modular grain storage units manufactured by Lubnymash to test an alternative grain storage technology, the company's Head of Storage Department, Serhii Shcherban, told Elevatorist.com.

According to him, the company will test the modular storage units in Poltava region to assess their technical and economic performance.

“We will test this technology in Poltava region. We want to evaluate its technical and operational characteristics in practice: calculate the actual cost, loading and unloading performance, and identify potential risks. We intend to complete the entire cycle — from loading and sealing to unloading — to avoid any unpleasant surprises at the end of the season,” Shcherban said.

He added that the company is already working on reducing the cost of modular storage and has achieved initial progress in this area.

Modular grain storage units have emerged as one of the alternative grain storage solutions provided to Ukrainian farmers as humanitarian aid over the past two years.
