Russian forces destroy warehouses at Prometey elevator in Sumy region
Russian forces twice attacked the Lebedyn grain elevator operated by agricultural holding Prometey in Sumy region, destroying two grain warehouses and a grain drying facility, the company said.
The first drone strike on the elevator took place on the evening of Aug. 8. About 30 minutes later, Russian forces launched a second strike on the same facility. Prometey said the repeated attack indicated the deliberate destruction of civilian agricultural infrastructure.
According to Rafael Goroyan, the company’s owner and chairman of its supervisory board, the elevator was one of the agricultural holding’s largest and most profitable assets before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The company said none of its employees were injured in the attack. Efforts to deal with the aftermath and assess the damage are currently underway at the facility.
All damage is being documented for inclusion in the register of property destroyed or damaged as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.
