2026 Harvest: Ukraine has harvested half of its early grain area

As of Aug. 10, growers in Ukraine harvested 5.63 million hectares of grain and legume crops, or 49% of the projected area. The harvest totalled 26.13 million tons of grain, with an average yield of 4.64 tons per hectare, according to data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The largest area harvested was wheat, at 4.07 million hectares, or 78.8% of the projected area. Wheat production reached 19.74 million tons, with an average yield of 4.85 tons per hectare.

The barley harvest is almost complete. Producers have harvested the crop from 1.29 million hectares, or 86.5% of the area. Production totalled 5.68 million tons, with an average yield of 4.41 tons per hectare.

Pea harvesting is also nearing completion. Farms have harvested peas from 276,900 hectares, or 92.6% of the area, producing 712,300 tons.

Rapeseed harvesting is also underway. As of Aug. 10, growers harvested 1.19 million hectares, or 89.4% of the projected area. Production totalled 3.22 million tons, with an average yield of 2.71 tons per hectare.
