Zelenskyy: Russia has failed to fully block Ukrainian ports, 3-4 ships enter and leave Big Odesa daily

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that as of late August, Russia had failed to fully block the operation of Ukraine’s seaports. Despite attacks on port infrastructure, vessels continue to enter and leave the ports of Big Odesa, EPravda reported.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia is currently attempting to impose a full blockade of the ports, but maritime traffic through the corridor continues every day.

“There is no total blockade today, there is an attempt to impose a total blockade, but three to four ships enter and leave Big Odesa every day, even though they are targeting port infrastructure,” the president said.

Zelenskyy added that Russia’s attempts to block Ukrainian ports are being raised at the international level.

He said efforts to counter the blockade involve two tracks: negotiations and strengthening air defence for the maritime grain corridor.
