NIBULON installs solar power plants at three branches, covering up to half of elevator needs

NIBULON has installed solar power plants at three more of its branches — Bessarabian, Zolotonosha and Denykhivka. Five of the company’s elevators now have their own solar generation capacity, accounting for more than 20% of its total elevator capacity.

Each solar power plant can cover between 25% and 50% of an elevator’s electricity needs, depending on its operating mode.

The solar plants at the Bessarabian, Zolotonosha and Denykhivka branches each have photovoltaic module capacity of up to 350 kW. The facilities are equipped with Huawei inverters and 546–566 bifacial solar panels rated at up to 620 watts each.

All three solar plants are grid-connected and equipped with ENcombi devices. This allows them to operate either from the external power grid or together with diesel generators in the event of a power outage.

The company said its own solar generation allows it to reduce electricity purchases from the market. NIBULON can also feed surplus electricity into the grid as an active consumer.

In addition, operating the solar plants together with diesel generators helps reduce fuel consumption during scheduled and emergency power outages.

The development of solar generation is part of NIBULON’s decarbonization strategy. By 2030, the company plans to equip 30% of its elevator complexes with solar power plants.
