Zelenskyy: Grain could be one of the topics in trilateral talks between Ukraine, US and Russia
Grain could be included on the agenda of a potential trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States and Russia. Other topics could include energy and humanitarian issues, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in response to questions from journalists, Forbes Ukraine reported.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine, the United States and Russia are moving toward a trilateral format for talks. The meeting could be held in the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Turkey or another country.
“The meeting could be in the Emirates, Switzerland, Turkey or other countries. We have experience, and we have invitations from various countries,” Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that grain and energy issues could be raised during the talks. He said the discussions should result in concrete agreements.
“We need not only to discuss things, but to have a concrete result,” he stressed.
Humanitarian issues could be another area of potential negotiations. In particular, the talks could focus on increasing the number of prisoner exchanges and speeding them up.
Zelenskyy did not provide details of any possible agreements on grain. The president said the parties should first work out the agreements, after which they would be communicated to the public.
