17 million tons of wheat grain was harvested in Ukraine

Ukrainian agrarians have harvested 17 million tons of wheat grain from 4.4 million hectares of land, which is 70% of total area. This data was announced in the framework of the joint project by Latifundist.com and AGCO Harvest Online 2017.

According to the data, the average wheat yield is about 3.83 tons/ha (in 2016 — 4.03 tons/ha).

As of July 28, 2017, according to the data from the regions, 24.3 million tons of early grains and legume crops were harvested from 6.8 million hectares of land, which is 70% of the total area. The average yield amounted to 3.58 tons/ha (in 2016 — 3.75 tons/ha).

The harvest campaign (by crops) is as follows:

  •         barley — 1.9 million hectares out of 2.5 million hectares were harvested, which constitutes 76%, 6.2 million tons of grain were threshed, with a yield of 3.23 tons/ha (in 2016 — 3.30 tons/ha);
  •         rye — 26 thousand hectares out of 169 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 16%, 69 thousand tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 2.61 tons/ha (in 2016 — 2.53 tons/ha);
  •         oats — 14 thousand hectares out of 193 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 7%, 36 thousand tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 2.53 tons/ha (in 2016 — 2.46 tons/ha);
  •         peas — 363 thousand hectares out of 405 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 90%, 929 thousand tons of pulses were threshed, with an average yield of 2.56 tons/ha (in 2016 — 3.17 tons/ha);
  •         rapeseed — 650 thousand hectares out of 785 thousand hectares were harvested, which constitutes 83%, 1.7 million tons of grain were threshed, with an average yield of 2.65 tons/ha (in 2016 — 2.63 tons/ha).

The highest yields of early grain and legume crops were recorded in Khmelnitsky — 5.41 tons/ha, Ivano-Frankovsk — 5.18 tons/ha, Lvov — 5.16 tons/ha, Chernovtsy — 4.85 tons/ha, and Ternopol — 4.75 tons/ha regions.
