The harvest of sunflower in Ukraine will decrease to 14 million tons in 2017

The forecast of the sunflower harvest in Ukraine in 2017 was lowered by USDA analysts by 0.5 million tons to 14 million tons compared to the forecast in August.

This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the report of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The report says that the forecast for production of sunflower oil in 2017/18 MY is reduced by 172,000 tons to 5.85 million tons, exports by 150,000 tons to 5.25 million tons.

According to forecasts of analysts, production of sunflower meal in Ukraine in 2017/18 MY will amount to 5.617 million tons, exports are projected at 4.7 million tons.

Let us remind, that Ukraine in January-August 2017 exported 57.01 tons of sunflower seeds for $23.28 million.
