Ukraine increased export of sunflower oil by 30% in 2016/17 MY

Export of sunflower oil from Ukraine following the results of 2016/17 MY amounted to a record 5.84 million tons, which is 30% higher than the previous season.

This was reported by APK-Inform.

"Due to the high reserves of sunflower oil in factories and ports, the pace of export of products remained unprecedented high until the end of the season," the report says.

The three largest importing countries of Ukrainian sunflower oil in 2016/17 MY included India (35% of total exports), China (10%) and Spain (9%), which in total bought more than half the volume of exported products.

According to the report, the updated forecast for export of sunflower oil from Ukraine in 2017/18 MY is 5.6 million tons against 5.45 million tons in the previous report of the agency's analysts, which is 4% below the result of 2016/17 MY.
