World production of coarse grains in 2017/18 MY will decrease by 2.37 million tons
According to forecasts, the world production of coarse grains in 2017/18 MY will decrease by 2.37 million tons and will amount to 1.32 billion tons.
This is reported by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
At the same time, production of coarse grain in comparison with 2016/17 MY (1.36 billion tons) will decrease by 47.96 million tons.
The volume of world exports of coarse grains in 2017/18 MY is forecasted to be 185.6 million tons, which is 0.65 million tons less than the forecast for August and 18.42 million tons in 2016/17 MY (204.02 million tons).
According to the USDA analysts, the volume of imports of coarse grains in 2017/18 MY will make 181.45 million tons, which is 6.14 million tons more than the level of 2016/17 MY (175.31 million tons).
Let us remind, that the forecast for world grain production in 2017/18 MY is increased by 18.4 million tons to 2.61 billion tons, slightly exceeding the record level of the past MY.
