Ukraine and Russia in August exported 2.8 million tons of wheat to Asia

Ukraine and Russia in August 2017 exported a record 2.76 million tons of wheat to Asia.

This is reported by Reuters.

Asia accounted for more than 40% of the total exports of the two countries.

"In August 2016, Russian and Ukrainian supplies to Asia totaled 2.52 million tons and 2.08 million tons in 2015, indicating an upward trend. The peak of export deliveries is traditional in August after harvesting in July," the report said.

It is noted that the export of wheat from the Black Sea region pressed Australia in the Asian markets, rising to record volumes last month due to the large harvest in the region, higher quality of wheat and new infrastructure.

Let us remind, that Ukraine since the beginning of 2017/18 MY as of September 13, 2017 exported 7.77 million tons of grain, which is 1 thousand tons less than the same period last year.
