Transshipment of grain from seaports in January-September increased by 11%

The seaports of Ukraine in January-September 2017 transshipped 29.76 million tons of grain, which is 11.08% more than for the same period last year.

This is reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

Top 5 seaports in terms of grain transshipment volumes are:

  • Yuzhnyi — 6.67 million tons (+ 24.3% compared to the same period last year);
  • Nikolaev — 6.6 million tons (+4.2%);
  • Chernomorsk — 6.09 million tons (+12.8%);
  • Odessa — 6.03 million tons (+2.1%);
  • Olvia — 2.65 million tons (+65.8%).

Reference: in the period from September 23 to September 29, 2017, 506 thousand tons of grain crops were shipped from Ukrainian seaports, which is only 1% higher than a week earlier.
