Ukraine needs to settle the issue of GOST and ISO inconsistency for grain

It is necessary to eliminate the discrepancy between the evaluation of products according to GOST and ISO standards (interstate standards) in order to optimize the work of participants of the grain export chain in Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by Pavel Plotnikov, the head of the company UTA Logistics, during the visit to the port terminals in Germany and France within the framework of the L.A.B. project, reports CTS.

"In Europe, we see that farmers transport grain to terminals according to ISO. Accordingly, in the port it takes 10 min. to accept cars without unnecessary delays. In Ukraine, when exporting and concluding contracts, we do it according to ISO. And when accepting commodities from our farmers, we are forced to follow GOST. This significantly complicates the work and increases the time required," said Pavel Plotnikov.

In his opinion, it is necessary to conduct work, as well with Ukrainian farmers, in order to maximize the transition to ISO.
