Corn yield vary between 1.5-2 t/ha in Dnepropetrovsk region

Agrarians of the Dnepropetrovsk region note that at present corn yield varies within the limits of 1.5-2 t/ha, and rarely reaches 2.5-3.2 t/ha.

This is reported by APK-Inform.

It is noted that corn yield decreased by 20% in 2017.

According to the agrarians, this situation is caused by the lack of moisture during the growing season and grain filling.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, by October 9, 2017, corn in the Dnipropetrovsk region is harvested on 200 thousand hectares, which is 62% of the forecast, 534.4 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with the average productivity of 2.7 tons/ha.

Reference: according to the joint project of Latifundist.com and AGCO Harvest Online 2017 as of October 6, 2017, Ukrainian farmers threshed 5 million tons of corn on the area of 1.2 million hectares, with then average yield of 4.42 t/ha (2016 — 5.40 t/ha).
