Global wheat production forecast in 2017/18 MY increased by 6 million tons

The forecast for global wheat production in 2017/18 MY is increased by 6.34 million tons to 751.19 million tons.

This is stated in the report of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

In this case, the production of wheat in comparison with 2016/17 MY (754.15 million tons) will decrease by 2.96 million tons.

The forecast for wheat production in Ukraine remained at the level of the previous month — 26.5 million tons (2016/17 MY — 26.8 million tons).

According to the forecasts, the world wheat export in 2017/18 MY will amount to 180.04 million tons, which is 0.01 million tons more than September forecast, and 2.94 million tons less than in 2016/17 MY (182.48 million tons).

The gross grain harvest forecast in Ukraine in 2017/2018 MY, depending on the weather conditions, is estimated at 60.2-63 million tons.
