In 2016/17 MY Ukraine exported 232k tons of grain to 6 countries of the Danube basin
Based on the results of 2016/17 MY, Ukraine exported 232.6 thousand tons of grain and products of its processing to 6 countries of the basin of the river Danube (Germany, Romania, Moldova, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria).
This was reported by Rodion Rybchinsky, the head of the Association Millers of Ukraine and the head of the business projects department of APK-Inform, within the framework of the agro-logistic forum Dnieper-Danube-Black Sea in Chisinau on October 18, APK-Inform informs.
"The bulk of Ukrainian grain and grain products, which makes up 116.3 thousand tons, or 50%, was shipped in this direction. In addition, about 22% (51.8 thousand tons) was purchased by Romania and 17% (38.7 thousand tons) was supplied to Moldova," the expert said.
Rodion Rybchinsky specified that corn (91.3 thousand tons) and wheat (18.1 thousand tons) prevailed in the structure of grain supplies to Germany. Deliveries to Romania were formed mainly of wheat (32.9 thousand tons) and barley (17.4 thousand tons), while exports to Moldova accounted for about 86% of flour supplies and 13% of cereals of Ukrainian production.
In addition, he noted that according to the results of the previous season about 31,1 thousand tons of grain crops were imported by Ukraine from these countries.
"Thus, the total commodity turnover between these countries and Ukraine in the grain segment in 2016/17 MY amounted to almost 264 thousand tons," the analyst summed up.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine from the beginning of 2017/18 MY as of October 11, 2017 exported 11.27 million tons of grain, which is 98 thousand tons less than in the same period last year.
