Corn yield in the northern regions of Ukraine estimated at 7-9 t/ha

Agrarians of the northern regions of Ukraine note the yield of corn varies in the range of 7-9 t/ha.

APK-Inform writes that the quality of grain in some cases does not meet the requirements of GOST, in particular, humidity is fixed in the range of 20-23%.

It is specified that harvesting of grain crops, in particular corn and soybeans, has been suspended due to precipitation in the form of rain and snow.

At the same time, the yield of soy varies in the range of 1.9-3 tons per hectare, which is 20% lower than last year and currently amounts to 1.7-2 t/ha.

According to agrarians, harvesting campaign is planned to resume in a few days, when more favorable weather conditions come.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of October 25, corn is harvested on the area of 2.5 million hectares, which is 55% to the forecast, soybean — 1.6 million hectares (81% to the forecast).

Earlier it was reported that the forecast of global corn production in MY 2017/18, compared with the forecast in September, was reduced by 6.17 million tons to 1.038 billion tons.
