Corn export from Ukraine in MY 2017/18 should amount to 19 MT

Given the good results of the harvesting campaign and sufficient external demand, the volume of corn exports in MY 2017/18 will reach a high level of 19.0 million tons.

This is reported by Stanislava Yarosh, the analyst of the agricultural market at ProAgro.

"One of the proofs of the sufficiency of the external demand for Ukrainian corn is the latest analytical data of International Grains Counsil (IGS), according to which the global corn production in MY 2017/18 will amount to 1.034 billion tons, which is 45 million tons less than the previous season's result. The forecast of global utilization is increased by 9 million tons to 1.067 billion tons, and the expected volume of global trade of corn is 149 million tons (+1 million tons to the previous forecast and +11 million tons to the result of MY 2016/17)," the analyst notes.

She added that key directions in the new season are not expected to change much, and will include the EU countries and Middle Eastern States.
