The Scientific and Production Society Ukrsorghum plans to start sorghum production in the Kherson region and to build a processing plant in the region.

The enterprise plans to build a plant within a few months from the date of signing the cooperation agreement.

"In recent years, due to the increased aridity of the climate in the steppe zone of Ukraine, there has been a significant increase in the need to expand the range of drought-resistant and heat-resistant crops. One of the crops suitable for such conditions is sorghum. Therefore, its cultivation is economically expedient and agronomically reasonable for us," says Yevgeniy Rischuk, the deputy chairman of the State Administration.

Reference: Ukraine in January-September exported 132 thousand tons of sorghum.
